Dr. Laura Gowen is a native of Philadelphia and the Main Line, educated at Georgetown University of Washington DC, and even studied abroad in London! We are so happy to have her leading Cirillo Center for Plastic Surgery, and as a part of our Cirillo Institute family.

I currently enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 small children – hopefully traveling when they get to be a little older.

If there was one thing you wish everyone knew about plastic surgery, what would it be?
I wish that everyone knew the majority of it is reconstructive plastic surgery.
What interests you most about plastic surgery?
Being able to care for patients of all ages, having the ability to operate from head to toe, and performing both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
Do you have a favorite plastic surgery procedure?
Autologous breast reconstruction, which is breast reconstruction using your own abdominal tissue. It provides a very natural appearing result, avoids placement of implants, and can improve the appearance of your abdomen at the same time.
