1968
Chalmers E. Cornelius, III MD is named Chief of Dermatology at The Bryn Mawr Hospital (11/18/1968). Dr. Cornelius serves as Chief of Dermatology for 30 years (until 10/10/1998).
1970
Dr. Cornelius Private Practice office established at The Bryn Mawr Hospital – South Medical Office Building.
1972 – 1988
Dr. Cornelius is also on staff at Lankenau Medical Center.
1970 – 1992
Dr. Cornelius builds well-respected dermatology practice on the Main Line. He decides he needs help with his ever growing practice and looks for new dermatologist to join him.
1993
Dr. Cornelius hires Victoria A. Cirillo-Hyland, MD – practice becomes a tertiary skin cancer center where the most complicated cases of skin cancer are referred by area physicians.
1995
Transition practice name to
Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer Institute;
hire Teri Campbell, Practice Administrator.
1996 – 2006
Dr. Cirillo-Hyland pioneers Cosmetic Dermatology treatments, becomes leader in the field.
1997
Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer moves to Bryn Mawr Hospital – North Medical Office Building due to dermatology practice growth (medical and cosmetic demand).
1997 – 2006
Medical and Cosmetic Practices continue to grow and require larger office space.
2005
Launch 1st generation website.
2005
Sara Mancini, PA-C joins Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer.
2006
Dermatologist John K. Mulholland, MD and Janet E. DeSipio, PA-C join Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer.
2007
Launch Cirillo Cosmetic Dermatology Spa
– In addition to her tertiary skin cancer following, Dr. Cirillo continues to offer the most advanced cosmetic dermatology treatments to her patients.

Practices move to current Bryn Mawr office location: 919 Conestoga Road, Building Two, Suites 105/106 allowing additional space to see patients more efficiently.
2009
Kara D. Capriotti, MD joins
Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer.

Release 2nd generation of website.

Add 2nd practice office location in Newtown Square MLH Building, 3855 West Chester Pike, Suite 325

Add Mohs Surgery with Drs. Mulholland, Capriotti and Cirillo-Hyland.

Implement Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for

Dr. Cornelius retires after 46 years in practice!

Plastic Surgeon Laura A. Gowen, MD joins and helps launch
Cirillo Center for Plastic Surgery – 1st practice to integrate a full-time Plastic Surgeon with Dermatologists.
