Dermal Fillers, Lip Injections, and More
Juvederm® and Other Options for Philadelphia, Bryn Mawr, and Newtown Square
There was a time when people who wanted to rid themselves of lines and wrinkles had to undergo a painful surgical procedure followed by a long and difficult recovery.
Injectable fillers have altered the treatment of lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin by providing safe and effective outpatient solutions for the physical signs of aging.
At Cirillo Cosmetic, we are experienced in using dermal fillers for reducing the visible signs of aging on your face and body, as well as highlighting the mouth with lip injections. Philadelphia, Bryn Mawr, and Newtown Square area patients choose us for our more than 22 years of experience. We help patients maintain a youthful, natural appearance by filling in the places that age-related changes have diminished.
What are injectable fillers?
Fillers are among the most popular products used to improve the appearance of the face and body. Sometimes known as "liquid facelifts," they frequently are used in combination with each other or with the neuromodulators Botox® Cosmetic , Dysport®, or Xeomin® to create a refreshed, more youthful appearance without the cost, risk, or recovery time of facelift surgery.
Fillers such as Juvéderm® Ultra/Ultra Plus, Voluma™, Belotero®, Restylane®, Perlane®, Sculptra®, and Radiesse® are used by Cirillo Cosmetic to plump lips, restore fullness to cheeks, fill in facial creases and hollows, diminish scars, erase fine lines, rejuvenate hands, lift the brow or a downturned mouth, and replenish dark hollow tear troughs under the eyes.
When administered by an experienced cosmetic dermatologist, fillers provide natural looking results in minutes, with few side effects. A typical filler treatment can be completed in one office visit of an hour or less. A topical anesthetic may be used prior to treatment, depending on the type of filler used and the area to be treated. The treated area may be injected several times in order to achieve the desired result. Temporary side effects from fillers may include redness, swelling, tenderness, and occasional bruising at the injection site; most side effects clear within 7 – 14 days or sooner. At Cirillo Cosmetic, we are experts in injecting fillers with soft, flexible microcannulae. The use of micorcannulae greatly reduces the risks of bruising, swelling, and discomfort.
After treatment, most patients resume normal activity within one day. Your Cirillo Cosmetic dermatology professional will provide you with pre- and post-procedure instructions to ensure the best outcome for your treatment.
How long does filler treatment last?
Most fillers offer temporary improvement of the treated area and require repeat treatments to maintain the desired appearance. The length of time that a filler treatment lasts may vary from three months to three years. Certain fillers also stimulate the body to produce its own collagen for long lasting improvement. Filler treatment may be repeated when the signs of aging reappear.
Although fillers are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments available, they are safest when used by an experienced cosmetic dermatologist. When fillers are administered by nonmedical or inexperienced users, the incidence of serious side effects increases dramatically.
At Cirillo Cosmetic, our founding dermatologist, Dr. Victoria Cirillo-Hyland, is a nationally recognized expert in the use of injectable fillers. Highly skilled and knowledgeable about the use of these products, Dr. Cirillo-Hyland was chosen by the manufacturer, Allergan, to participate in its Juvéderm® JET clinical trials.
