tattoo removal
Over time, cumulative exposure to environmental factors such as UV rays and pollution can exacerbate the natural aging process in the skin, leading to hyperpigmentation, uneven texture and tone, fine lines, acne, and other concerns. At Cirillo Cosmetic Dermatology Spa, our targeted yet comprehensive Lutronic Spectra laser peels can address a variety of concerns while allowing ample room for patient individualization.

The Spectra device is a dual-pulsed Q-switched Nd:YAG laser by Lutronic Aesthetic. As a peel treatment, Lutronic Spectra can refresh the appearance of damaged and/or aging skin. Besides treating cosmetic skin concerns, we also use the Lutronic Spectra laser for tattoo removal.

Robust and technologically advanced, the laser beams from the Spectra device efficiently deliver light-based energy to the targeted area while minimizing the damage to the surrounding skin. This allows for quick recovery time after treatment.

Types of Lutronic Spectra Laser Peels

Lutronic Spectra Laser Peel (also known as the "Hollywood Peel" for Skin Rejuvenation)

Dr.G.S.LeeNasalPores

*Patient results may vary.

The Hollywood Peel is the classic, comprehensive Lutronic Spectra laser peel that reduces fine lines and wrinkles, facial scars, hyperpigmentation, uneven texture, enlarged pores, excess sebum production, and vellus hair. Patients with Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV can be treated with this laser peel.

Spectra carbon lotion (which somewhat resembles a mud mask) is applied to the face 15 minutes before treatment, after which your medical provider will initiate the first pass of the Spectra laser in its 1064 long-pulsed mode to thermally stimulate cell regeneration. Next, the carbon lotion is removed with a second pass of the laser in its Q-switched mode, which is meant to exfoliate skin and further stimulate collagen remodeling. We may use additional Q-switched mode passes over the T-zone or other specific areas to target enlarged pores.

For Hollywood Peels, we typically recommend that patients receive three to five treatment sessions over two- to four-week intervals, and maintenance sessions at three to six months.

Lutronic Spectra Soft Peel & Laser Toning for Epidermal & Dermal Pigmentation

Laser Toning with the Q-switched mode of the Lutronic Spectra laser can be performed with or without a Soft Peel. During a Soft Peel, the Spectra carbon lotion acts as a superficial target for laser energy, and facilitates the removal of more superficial epidermal pigment. Without the Soft Peel, the Laser Toning is performed without the carbon lotion to address deeper dermal pigmentation common in patients with melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

We currently recommend combining the Laser Toning with the Soft Peel for the first treatment session, followed by Laser Toning only during the next week, and then back to both for the week after that. Typically, patients have six to 12 sessions at one- to two-week intervals, followed by maintenance sessions every three to six months.

Lutronic Spectra Laser Peel for Acne

The Lutronic Spectra Laser Peel is indicated for active inflammatory acne, acne scars, and redness. While this treatment protocol is similar to that of the Hollywood Peel, additional 1064 long-pulsed mode may be used on each inflamed acne lesion to kill the P. acnes bacteria. Patients with skin types I-IV can be treated with this laser peel.

532 Epidermal Peel

Using the 532 Q-switched mode, the 532 Epidermal Lutronic Spectra peel is indicated for skin types I and II only to treat sun/age spots and minor vascular lesions in patients with rosacea and cutaneous photoaging.

Because this peel is slightly more aggressive than the Hollywood Peel, complete skin healing may occur over a few days. Patients typically require only one treatment of the 532 Epidermal Peel.

To find out if one of our Lutronic Spectra laser peels is right for you, clients in Bryn Mawr, Newtown Square, and the Philadelphia area should schedule a consultation. Please BOOK ONLINE, call 610.525.5029, or Contact Us.
